Central High School Foundation

The CHS Foundation's mission is to improve the education of present and future students at Central High School.  Our efforts include:

  • Managing the Scholarship Endowment Fund
  • Maintaining and constantly updating an extensive database of alumni, parents, staff and friends
  • Providing reunion assistance
  • Developing and hosting a web site for Central organizations
  • Assisting other Central organizations
  • Sponsoring the Senior Recognition Event and the Teacher of the Year and
    Student of the Year scholarships
  • Operating the Foundation office
  • Identifying needs and developing strategic projects to improve Central
  • Raising funds for Central's needs, whatever they may be

Under the Foundation's Umbrella

Organizations under our umbrella enjoy our nonprofit status and assistance in raising and managing funds. These organizations include the Central Alumni Association, the Athletic Booster Club, the Central High Band Parents, PEP (Parents, Educators & Pupils) Scholarship Auction, JSPA (Journalism Students & Parents Association), and V.O.I.C.E. (Volunteer Organization Invested in Choral Excellence). The following is a listing of these groups' activities.

In "Keeping Central Central" the Alumni Association utilizes funds received from Annual Memberships to support:

  • Annual Hall of Fame Dinner
  • Printing & Mailing the Semiannual Newsletter
  • Reunion Assistance
  • Alumni Database
  • Special Events
  • Library Projects
  • Historical Memorabilia & Storage

The Central High School Athletic Booster Club's mission is to provide support and recognition for the athletic teams and coaches by:

  • Generating funding through the sale of memberships and fundraising activities
  • Providing recognition for athletes, coaches and other individuals or organizations supporting Central High School athletics
  • Providing support for coaches and athletic teams beyond what the school can provide
  • Encouraging student support of all athletic teams

P.E.P (Parents, Educators & Pupils) is Central's parent-teacher organization. P.E.P. supports students, teachers and administrators through a variety of fundraising programs and special events such as:

  • Holiday Tea for teachers
  • Purple Feather Day
  • Post-Prom party
  • National Honor Society reception
  • Senior Recognition event

V.O.I.C.E. assists the choral arts program by:

  • Sponsoring and promoting all vocal music activities and programs
  • Madrigal Dinner and Honors Banquet
  • VOICE Scholarships
  • Conducting fundraising activities

The Central High Band Parents help provide meaningful opportunities for band students, including:

  • Supporting the CHS music staff
  • Providing scholarships for two graduating seniors
  • Accompanying the band to music contests
  • Transporting equipment to games and parades
